Sailing around and after a few failed attempts with previous versions, I found someone brought me the right solution for the old dream of put on my Ubuntu desktop (and other Debian-based distributions) a terrestrial planisphere in which a data is updated automatically. So we Real-time Wallpaper Sunlight, which has been an application that recovers data Die.net to introduce a desktop background in which, with different modes of view, we can observe in real time (updates every 30 minutes) the evolution of light and cloud cover on Earth, making it attractive result:
The process is simple to install as they simply just down the executable that corresponds to our distribution (the application is originally designed for Ubuntu 10.04 , so there is a specific package for "Lucid Lynx" and another for other distros based Debian) ... and say yes to everything. Then run the application from "Applications - Accessories - Wallpaper Sunlight Real-Time" where we can also change the perspective of vision and other parameters.
For the purists, I am enclosing the code to install and run it from console on Ubuntu:
sudo apt-add-ppa repository: realtime.sunlight.wallpaper / rsw
sudo apt -get update
sudo apt-get install sunlight
gtk-sunlight
... And Happy flight all ... how geo-stationary satellites in orbit.
